It finally happened! Yes the London 2012 Games kicked off Friday night with a gloriously English and spectacular Opening Ceremony that wowed people all over the world. It is estimated that approximately 27 million people in the UK alone watched the Opening Ceremony which makes it the 13th most watched programme in British TV history. I paid a visit to one of London’s most famous streets or “shopping heaven” as more commonly known on Saturday and it was clear as daylight that Olympics fever has struck again! Yesterday marked 100 days until the start of the London 2012 Games. It is quite extraordinary that this major global event is literally on our doorstep and after years of plotting and planning it will kick off on 27th July. Now for most people this is exciting and something to look forward to as this type of event will bring the nation together as we proudly show off our beautiful city and country. So when you’re standing on a platform, jam packed with other travellers waiting to board the next train or stuck on a gridlocked M25 remember this is supposed to be ‘inspiring a generation’.
