A marvellous display of a bittersweet life

Elegant stores, exclusive brands, designer fashion, luxury goods and mighty fine jewels is what you will find in London’s famous Bond Street. Set in the heart of Mayfair, in the West End, Bond Street is definitely the ‘playground of the rich’ and a landmark for all things sophisticated. I took a walk down this famous street on Saturday and snapped a up a few shots I wanted to share with you.

Since the early 1700s, Bond Street has been the playground of society’s wealthiest most stylish and influential people. Past residents of the street include Admiral Horatio Nelson and Lady Emma Hamilton as well as a number of renowned authors and poets. Today, over 300 years on, Bond Street remains a much-loved destination for celebrities, socialites and the international jet set. It plays home to some of the world’s most prestigious and expensive retailers including Armani, Asprey, Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel, Cartier, Chopard, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, Nicole Farhi, Prada, Ralph Lauren and Tiffany & Co, to name just a few.

I took a few pictures of some of the store fronts and I swear I could almost smell the fragrance ‘Au du Riches’ (yes, I made that up!) in the air. I will never probably afford anything down this street and I didn’t see anyone famous but it was an awesome experience seeing where the wealthy Londoners inject their riches into.
